In the KEXP studio with Alicia Amiri’s newest band, Nightmare Fortress.

It was the first time the I’d seen the space transformed so radically, lit only by these giant LED-slash-fluorescent-light… sticks? that were on occasionally at best.

Annie and I hit up the Needle this past Saturday for the 50th anniversary of Century 21 / the ‘62 World’s Fair. Even at 8:15 in the morning, it was full of happy spectators, with Elvis on the TV screens and oldies playing through the soundsystem.
